Two-Week Summer School
Overview
In this program, we attempt to look at what makes India unique. We use our competencies in intercultural studies and test them in a multicultural environment. We aim to understand the intricacies and nuances of plurilingual and multicultural societies concentrating on the cultural interactions and negotiations at various levels. We look at India from the points of view of Religion, Culture and Society to truly understand the microcosm with an open perspective
Learning Outcomes
On completion, students will be able to
- Explain the theories and concepts of metaphysics, ethics and social philosophies
- Critically analyse philosophical standpoints on human life and its worldly affairs
- Debate over socio-political concerns and offer philosophical resolutions
- Appreciate diverse social values and internalise humane sensitivities
Course Contents
- Unit 1: Culture and society – literary thoughts and narratives, social landscapes, religion and spiritualism
- Unit 2: Ethics and Morality – commentaries on Dharma and Niti, normative and metaethical concerns – virtue of being good, teleology, deontology, feminist ethics
- Unit 3: Metaphysics and Ontology – self and identity, mind-body debate, Jnana, Karma and Purusharthas – thought, action and pursuit

Fee Details
The Program fee would be EUR 550 per student.
Included in the Fee:
- Accommodation at University Guest House (on a twin sharing basis) for the duration
- Breakfast and Lunch on all working days
- Internal Transport
- Access to Sports and Emergency Medical Facilities
Not Included in the Fee:
- Flight Tickets
- Travel other than that specified in Program
